Networking
Professional networking doesn't come naturally to everyone. We can help students/graduates to prepare and gain confidence before attending events and meeting with recruiters.
We can help with...
-
getting the most from networking events/careers fairs
-
Preparing your 'elevator pitch'
-
Networking online/LinkedIn
Networking events
-
Research the organisations that will be exhibiting at the event. Look at their website, social media and Wikipedia pages. This will help you to strategise which recruiters to talk to (or avoid), and you can impressed them with your knowledge.
-
Take printed copies of your CV and covering letter so you can give these to recruiters.
-
Take examples of your work in a portfolio or on a tablet (these will really stick in the minds of recruiters you meet).
-
Make notes after you meet someone. This will help you to follow-up later if there’s action you need to take, such as emailing your CV or connecting on LinkedIn.

networking with recruiters at a jobs fair
-
phoning an employer to enquire about their vacancy

in an interview, when they say ‘Tell me about yourself’.
